These rules are framed to ensure a safe, disciplined, inclusive, and value-based learning environment for all members of the Gadha Public School community, in accordance with CBSE norms.
I. General Rules (Applicable to All)
School Identity:
• All students and staff shall respect the name, logo, motto, and uniform of Gadha Public School, Poonoor, Calicut.
• The school logo and name shall be used only for official and approved purposes.
The school functions in accordance with CBSE by-laws and guidelines.
All students, teachers, and staff are expected to uphold the dignity, reputation, and ethos of the school at all times.
Mutual respect, courtesy, and cooperation are mandatory within the school premises and during school-related activities.
The school premises are a plastic-free, tobacco-free, and substance-free zone.
Safety, hygiene, and cleanliness must be maintained by everyone.
Any form of discrimination, bullying, harassment, or violence is strictly prohibited.
School rules apply during school hours, school transport, excursions, competitions, and online/offline school platforms.
II. Rules for Teachers and Other Staff
A. Professional Conduct
Staff members shall maintain the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
Confidentiality of school records, student information, and official matters must be strictly maintained.
Respectful and empathetic behaviour towards students, parents, colleagues, and management is essential.
Staff shall refrain from using abusive language, corporal punishment, or any form of humiliation.
B. Duties and Responsibilities
Staff are expected to discharge duties diligently, punctually, and responsibly.
Attendance during working hours, school functions, trainings, meetings, and duties assigned by the school is mandatory.
As part of service responsibility, staff may be required to attend school beyond regular hours, on holidays, or in emergencies.
Teachers shall prepare lessons thoroughly, assess students fairly, and provide constructive feedback.
Supporting staff shall ensure smooth administrative, clerical, and operational functioning of the school.
C. Time and Punctuality
All staff must report on time as per the school timetable.
Prior approval is required for leave; emergency leave must be informed immediately.
D. Dress Code
Teachers and staff shall be neatly dressed in dignified, modest, and professional attire.
Wearing of the school blazer is mandatory during school hours and official school programmes, wherever applicable.
Identity cards must be worn during working hours.
III. Rules for Students
A. Admission Rules and Attendance
Age Eligibility:
Admission is strictly based on age criteria as prescribed by the school and CBSE norms.
As of the academic year 2026, the minimum age requirements are:
KG 1 (LKG / Balavatika-2) – 4+ years
KG 2 (UKG / Balavatika-3) – 5+ years
Grade 1 – 6+ years
Grade 2 – 7+ years
Grade 3 – 8+ years
Grade 4 – 9+ years
Grade 5 – 10+ years
Grade 6 – 11+ years
Grade 7 – 12+ years
Grade 8 – 13+ years

Assessment: No formal written tests are conducted for Pre-Primary admissions (KG1 & KG2).
Children are observed in group or interactive settings to assess social interaction and readiness.
Documentation: Parents/Guardians must fill out the inquiry form or online admission form.
Submission of all required documents is mandatory for confirmation of admission.
B. Time and Punctuality
Students must reach school before the morning bell. Students are expected to be punctual for school hours (generally 9:45 am to 3:45 pm)
Students must reach the school at least 5 minutes before the morning bell and participate in the morning assembly in an orderly and respectful manner on the days it is scheduled
Punctuality is compulsory for classes, assemblies, examinations, and school activities.
C.Dress Code and Appearance
Students are required to wear the prescribed school uniform, clean and well-maintained, on all working days unless otherwise instructed. Students who do not adhere to the uniform policy will not be permitted to attend classes. On their birthdays, students may wear appropriate non-uniform attire, subject to the school’s guidelines.
Shoes, socks, belts, and ID cards are mandatory as per school norms. During the rainy season, students are permitted to wear belted footwear in place of covered shoes.
Hair must be well-groomed; excessive accessories, cosmetics, tattoos, or non-uniform items are not permitted.
On special occasions, students must adhere to the instructions issued by the school.
D. Academic and General Conduct
Curriculum:
Following CBSE guidelines for Grades VI–VIII, Gadha Public School will soon offer Grades IX & X within two years.
Attendance and Punctuality: Students are expected to be punctual for school hours (generally 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM) and for all scheduled academic and co-curricular activities.
i)students must carry their school diary every day and keep it neat and safe.
Loss of the diary will be treated seriously, and a fine will be charged.
ii)Regular attendance is compulsory. Students must maintain at least 75%
attendance to be eligible to appear for the final examination.
iii) Parents must record the reason for their child’s daily absence.
iv)Parents are advised to schedule medical or other appointments outside school hours whenever possible. If a student needs to leave during school hours, written permission from parents is required.
v)Parents are required to submit a medical certificate if a child is absent for a long period due to medical reasons
Behavioural Values: Students must uphold core values such as greeting teachers and visitors, maintaining self-discipline, and showing respect towards school property and community.
Medium of Instruction: English is the primary medium of instruction, and students are encouraged to use it for effective communication within the school campus, except during Hindi and Malayalam classes
E. General Rules, Code of Conduct, and Student Behaviour
Students shall be polite, respectful, and disciplined in words and actions.

Use of abusive language, fighting, bullying, intimidation, or cyber misconduct is strictly prohibited. Any student found violating this rule will face strict disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion.
Students must follow instructions given by teachers and school authorities.
Causing physical harm or threatening others is strictly prohibited.
Students must keep their classrooms, corridors, and school premises clean. Litter should be disposed of only in dustbins. Students may assist in classroom cleanliness as guided by teachers.
Students are not allowed to enter other classrooms. While moving in corridors or staircases, students must follow the ‘Keep Left’ rule and behave in a disciplined and orderly manner.
Students must behave politely and respectfully at all times—in classrooms, corridors, school buses, and outside the campus. They should greet teachers and elders courteously.
Students are expected to remain in their classrooms during class hours unless granted permission by the teacher. During breaks between classes, they should use the time responsibly, staying quiet and preparing for the next lesson.
Students arriving before the first bell must go directly to their classrooms and study quietly. They are not allowed in the playground during this time.
Students are not allowed to leave the school campus without the permission of the Principal.
The school is not responsible for the loss of books, money, or other valuables. Students are advised not to bring such items to school. Wearing ornaments, makeup, or nail polish is strictly prohibited, except that girls may wear small earrings or studs.
F. Values and Ethics
Students are expected to practice honesty, responsibility, empathy, and self-discipline.
Respect for diversity, inclusiveness, and national values is encouraged.
Students should uphold the values of the Indian Constitution and demonstrate social responsibility.
G. Use of School Property
School property, furniture, laboratory equipment, library books, and digital resources must be handled with care.
Any damage or loss caused intentionally or due to negligence will be compensated by the student/parent.
Writing on desks, walls, or misuse of school facilities is prohibited.
H. Prohibited Items
Mobile phones, smart gadgets, sharp objects, or any unauthorized items are not allowed unless permitted by the school.
Possession of objectionable material or substances will lead to strict disciplinary action.
IV. House System
Students shall belong to allotted school houses and actively participate in academic, cultural, and sports activities.
Healthy competition, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship shall be upheld through the house system.
House colour badges, ribbons, or uniforms (if prescribed) must be worn as instructed during house activities.
House points shall be awarded or deducted based on discipline, participation, and conduct.
V. Discipline and Safety
The school follows a zero-tolerance policy towards serious misconduct.
Disciplinary action may include warning, counselling, suspension, or other measures as per CBSE norms.
Students must follow safety instructions in laboratories, playgrounds, buses, and during emergencies.
VI. Fee Regulations
Fixation Norms:
School fees are fixed in accordance with CBSE and State Government guidelines, taking into consideration infrastructure development, contingency requirements, and state-fixed pay scales.

• Grades KG : ₹ 18700 per year
• Grades 1-5: ₹ 25100 per year
• Grades 6-7: ₹ 26100 per year
• Grades 8-9: ₹13050 per year((subject to revision as per management decision)
Policy: The school is committed to providing quality education at affordable

The school does not accept donations or capitation fees under any circumstances. For new admissions, an admission fee of ₹7,000 and a registration fee of ₹200 are applicable and are subject to revision by the management.
